Kat and the Cursed

To see the last two snippets about Kat and Victor visit 4/22 and 4/29 snippets

(I know it’s been awhile sorry)

“Victor, I swore I wouldn’t say this because it sounds stupid and like what anyone would tell you…” She paused not sure if she should.  It would only make her sound like she was trying to see him.

“You’re going to say that you don’t care how I look and you wouldn’t run away and it doesn’t matter to you if I have money or not you just want to be my friend and that you wish that I would trust you.” He said it so tired like he had heard it a million times before.

“Yeah, I knew it wouldn’t sound good. I was going to add that if you want we can just chat this way. I don’t mind keeping my eyes closed until you feel comfortable showing yourself to me, if you ever do.”

“You know, I think you’re the first one I would believe that load of crap from. I don’t know you yet. This may just be part of your plan.” He laughed when Kat sighed deeply. “Kit-Kat don’t worry we’ll get over it eventually just give us time ok? Let us get to know you.”

***

Kat is volunteered to work at the farm of her fathers boss her summer before college. As she needs money for college, and knows it would help with her fathers position in law firm, she agrees. What she doesn’t know until she arrives is that the bosses’ son, Victor, lives on the farm and had a terrible accident two years ago leaving him unwilling to let people see him. After she arrives she quickly realizes that she wants to get to know this mysterious man, and possibly help him accept who he is now. Victor doesn’t believe anyone could care for him now and wonders what Kat’s true motives are. It couldn’t be that she truly wants to get to know him, could it?

I am currently working on editing this piece to publish. Thank you for all the feedback so far from the other snippets and anything you could add for this one!

  1. I do too. It was the first thing I thought of. Loved it!
I call my daughter Kit-Kat. Her real name is Katrina. When she was just a little one, she would stuff things in her pockets. At Halloween when she was about 3 years old, she stuffed a whole bunch of the bit-size Kit-Kat bars in her pockets and the nickname stuck. 🙂

  2. I thought of The Man Without a Face (Mel Gibson) not Beauty & the Beast. Whatever, this is an interesting situation. The snippet raises questions–like didn’t he know she was coming? Why didn’t his father tell him? Will she stay? All good reasons to keep reading.
